Lissa Winters has her life all figured out. She wants a happy marriage and a house full of kids, right down to the white picket fence. The only thing that doesn't figure neatly into her plans is Jesse Kincade. She's been in love with him as long as she can remember, but after a fateful kiss under the stars he made it clear they weren't meant to be.
Jesse is struggling to keep his farm supply store in the black and has no time for a distraction like Lissa. Especially when he knows they have no future. He comes from a dark past and he's just not marriage material. He knows he could never be what Lissa needs.
When Lissa finds her chance to be with Jesse, even if it means she has to sacrifice her dreams, she wants to take it. But can she really be okay with only having part of him? And can Jesse deal with his past enough to see that he and Lissa are meant for love?
Meant for Love Willow Valley Book 2 eBook Christine Kingsley
I loved this story. The charcters were very believable, and I liked the friends first then on to lovers next aspect of the story. The fact that there were no real sex scenes were a major plus for me. Oh it would lead you up to that point, but then the author let the scene fade away so that the reader had to use their own imaginations, as to what really happened from then on.Jesse struggled when it came to what he hoped for in the future with Lissa, he just wasn't sure he could the kind of man she wanted, especially after being raise in a house with cold, conflicting parents his whole life. His mother wasn't too bad, but she would never stand up for herself, or stop his father from constantly berating him. His father on the other hand was so mean spirited, and a major womanizing cheater to boot! And while Lissa tried her best to convience Jesse he was nothing like his father for years, Jesse still had his own doubts.
Will Lissa ever be able to find a way to change his mind? Or will she finally move on to someone else?

Meant for Love Willow Valley Book 2 eBook Christine Kingsley Reviews
I really got hold of some great books lately!!! They were almost all extremely well written , attention grabbers! This one is no exception! Grabs your heart strings!!! I loved it!!!
I thought the love story part was sweet and clean. There are a few sexy scenes, but they are implied with no great detail. I too believe it could have used a good proof reader, but it didn't keep me from enjoying the story.
Christine Kingsley never disappoints . This book was interesting ,and romantic. The characters had their ups and downs, as we all do in real life. This is one of the things that I most like about her books.
This is a sweet romance, and I loved it. The time period was depicted well, the personalities shone, it was an all-around good read. Whether you read this on a rainy night, or on a beach blanket, you will really like it. I fell in love with the characters, they seemed almost real. Glad I read it, and I feel you will enjoy it too.
There was nothing astoundingly horrible about this book, it was just....bland I think is the best word. I feel like I should have liked the characters but there was just something missing. Ended up skip reading most of it.
This is a nice and clean, but not Christian, romance. I categorize it as clean because there's mostly innuendo, but no sex scenes. It usually goes something like this, they're kissing and fall on the bed and all of a sudden it's morning and one of them makes a comment about barely sleeping. The sex is implied, but not detailed in any way. That being said, its not Christian because these folks aren't married, but are clearly knocking boots on the regular.
The hero has daddy issues and the heroine has a crazy albeit close-knit family. There are setbacks and surprises, but it all works out in the end. If you like your romance with just a touch of steam, this is the ticket.
It's a romance, right? So yes, the characters end up happy. Me...not so much. Not because of their story (which was okay, but didn't especially grip me) but more because the writing was so passive, or shallow third person, and had no subtext. Everything was right there. The dialogue felt stilted, unreal and the individuals all sounded the same.
To me, the characters came across as flat, shallow and uninteresting with no interesting thoughts, emotions or internal lives so much as shadow puppets doing things because they have to do things this way. They didn't feel like *people* to me.
But I'm one person. I prefer deeper third person with characters who possess personalities who drive the plot.
I loved this story. The charcters were very believable, and I liked the friends first then on to lovers next aspect of the story. The fact that there were no real sex scenes were a major plus for me. Oh it would lead you up to that point, but then the author let the scene fade away so that the reader had to use their own imaginations, as to what really happened from then on.
